The St. Nicholas High Tea & Holiday Ball!

A cherished celebration of the season.

Join us for a festive afternoon High Tea followed by an evening of joyful historical & English Country dancing, set to live holiday music by Whirled Peas and led by callers Darlene Hamilton, Cara King & Lindsay Verbil.
(for 2025)

Enjoy good food, welcoming company, and the warm holiday atmosphere of the Pasadena Masonic Temple — beautifully decorated for the occasion.

Treat yourself to a delightful holiday-themed catered High Tea!


Enjoy a half hour of couples dancing to holiday music before the start of the ball!

We REQUIRE ALL dancing guests to have attended at least 1 dance event, or class, prior to the ball so that they have an understanding of this historical dance style.
English Country, Victorian, and Contra all have the same roots. If you have a good working knowledge of any of these dance styles you should be fine.

Dress code is FORMAL ATTIRE of any period as befits the event. Most wear costuming of the 1800s if they have it, Regency (Jane Austen) through Victorian. However, we love admiring formalwear of any period in time (even modern),

The St. Nicholas Holiday Ball

Each December we gather to welcome this festive season with a joyful afternoon High Tea followed by an enchanting evening of historical & English Country dancing to holiday tunes.



The St. Nicholas Ball is one of our most beloved traditions ~ a time for friends old and new to come together in a spirit of delight, beauty, and community.

Important details & day of information will be shared to ticket-holders closer to event day.

High Tea guests are welcome to reserve a table of eight and, if you wish, bring your own china and tea service to create a holiday tradition of your own! Invite friends old and new! Or enjoy open seating ~ a lovely way to meet new friends!

Before the dancing begins, we gather for a festive High Tea, enjoying a good meal with friends old and new.

We deck the hall with the season's good cheer, many tables will be set with personal tea settings for a beautiful spread.

Enjoy soft holiday tunes, warm conversation, and a delicious meal ~ all with sparkling anticipation of the evening of dancing to come!

For those with a special diet, we encourage you to enter the main buffet lines, visit the soup station, then find an assortment of special-diet (vegetarian) items on the side-hutch countertop.
