Yes, you CAN waltz! We teach beginners all the time, and even experienced dancers have a chance to discover something new. Enjoy hands-on practice, personalized tips, and the chance to hear familiar concepts explained in fresh ways. No partner? No problem! We rotate leads and follows, giving everyone the opportunity to dance with different people and build confidence on the floor.

Rotary Waltz Survival Tips!

For YOU! This is a chance to unleash imagination, spread your wings and try a little fantasy dancing—historically-based of course! Rooted in English Country Dance basics, we introduce our style of dancing to thousands of people each year at the magical Labyrinth Masquerade Ball, where group dances & waltzing happen all night long, both nights of this 2-day fantasy event. Our Ball Review prepares you for the Throne Room group dances plus we teach the specialized choreographed dances such as The Congress of Vienna.  You do not need to be attending the Masquerade to attend and enjoy our “Taste of Labyrinth” event. Just bring your sense of fantasy and playfulness!

> Note there is a brief intermission from 1:30-2:30 pm before the main event. We encourage you to bring a snack or grab a bite at a local counter restaurant. Very light snacks provided for waltz class attendees. The Snack Time Break is approx. 4pm.

COSTUMES ?

Costumes are generally not worn for ball reviews and workshops. However, if you are attending the Labyrinth Masquerade, we welcome you to wear your costume (or pieces of your costume) in order to understand how to move better while wearing it at the Masquerade.

Costumes, in general, are always welcome though many folks dress in every day clothing when attending our workshops. The choice is always yours.!

Important Costume Note:
Please be certain you can move easily in your costume and do not wear anything that would impede you or others while dancing. Please avoid high heels, trains, wings, or anything else that drags or sticks out, as they impede dancing for all. High heels are not recommended for this style of dance.

SNACK TIME BREAK

Enjoy a gracious Snack Time interlude midway through the workshop. A time to relax with hot tea, fizzy punch, and a selection of light snacks & treats. A time to share stories & warm conversation with friends old and new!
