The Polka Class
12:30 - 1:30 pm
The Tea Social
2:30 - 6:30 pm

Renée Camus returns for another ballroom dance workshop, this time focusing on the Polka. Taught using recorded music from 12:30–1:30, our March pre-event class will teach the basic polka footwork while focusing on techniques that allow you to achieve those 180-degree turns each time. These techniques are helpful for all types of turning couple dances from waltz, to schottische, to polka.
> Note there is a brief intermission from 1:30-2:30 pm before the main event. We encourage you to bring a snack or grab a bite at a local counter restaurant. Very light snacks provided for waltz class attendees. Tea Time luncheon is approx. 4pm.
Join caller Renée Camus as she leads you on a vibrant journey celebrating all things Celtic. Prepare for an afternoon brimming with lively jigs and heartfelt dances that will leave you with a skip in your step and a smile on your face!
Live music! Provided by David James, Linda Kodaira, and Bill Marks!

COSTUMES

Though costumes are not required, at this event many folks will dress whimsically in honor of our Celtic favorites (think Scottish and Irish). A touch of green or wearing of the plaid adds to the fun of the day.
We subscribe to the popular phrase:
Costumes admired
but never required.

Important Costume Note:
Please be certain you can move easily in your costume and do not wear anything that would impede you or others while dancing. Please avoid high heels, trains, wings, or anything else that drags or sticks out, as they impede dancing for all. High heels are not recommended for this style of dance.
